1139 Birth of Portugal

On this plate, of vintage colours, stands out the year of the “birth” of Portugal, 1139, after a thunderous victory at the Ourique’s battle, D. Afonso Henriques is acclaimed as soberane King of the Portugal Kingdom. Kingdom, wich centuries later, originates the present Portuguese Republic, also seen on the plate Portugal 1139.
